What is important?
Interesting question I think. Maybe a little hard to answer because
it does seem quite subjective although it has many objective aspects.
When you add more context, it becomes a little easier to answer.
I guess this one thing that generally stands out as important are
needs. What do " we " need, and that would also include, what
do " I " need. Needs do tend to focus the mind and give it some
kind of directions.
But generally, and moment by moment, I think two things
do come to mind as important. Compassion and love.
Both are kind of central to life and perhaps both
are what you might think of as " needs ", both in
the giving and receiving aspects.
Of course there is a lot to say about both of these and
it requires a good deal of thought to sort those two
things out. I know personally that I've been trying
to sort out the differences between those two things
most of my life. I know that some people do have
good answers about how they differ. Somehow they
do seem to work together.
I should mention world peace or world peas or whirled
peas. That does seem kind of important to everyone,
perhaps now more than ever. Kind of important and
today almost a need. A thing to value. Also, I think,
it may have a lot to do with how we view each other,
and also how we " feel " generally. It may be down
the road a bit, but how far? Not as far away as the
farthest star, I would say!
And finally, I need to mention that Baha'i's are celebrating
Ridvan throughout the world. Kind of important to them.
This one in particular, because it is in many ways
a " new " beginning.
