Freedom and distance
Well, this could turn into a real mess considering this is Memorial Day, 2022.
The word freedom is a very powerful word. It is closely connected to the
word - no - which also seems to have a fundamental and extremely powerful
role in how we behave.
So, freedom suggests that we can perform some type of action or
have some justification or ability to over ride some restriction.
So when you think about this and it requires a considerable amount
of reflection and effort to penetrate some of the meanings
here. Yet the word is often used as " arbitrarily " as the word -- no.
Distance is actually I believe, another concept which is almost
as difficult to comprehend, because it means things in a lot of
different contexts, which has a lot of similarity to freedom.
Also, like the notion of time, you end up with notions of " infinities "
as well as questions like: " is freedom free ? ".
So what can I conclude. I can certainly ask more questions, but
it sort of seems like freedom is mostly a two-edged sword, which
may or may not be a " good " thing. One question and a pretty
good one could be - " can we be free ? "
Also, a new moon, Memorial Day, 2022. Brand new one,
straight off the new moon shelf.
