Justice and time
Seems like we should start with time, and so the most difficult issue with
time, is the problem of infinity, and questions like what happened before
there was time ?
Back to justice, I am frequently concerned about the lack of awareness,
that like generosity, courtesy, courage, honesty, and an on going list
which may or may not be finite, justice is a virtue. Something that must
be individually cultivated, because it is very beneficial to the
individual as well as those around them. Of course the concern
might not be valid, nevertheless it does concern me, and I think
the primary reason for this is that, we have a variety of institutions
connected to the notion of justice. Therefore it is very easy for
us all to view justice as something exterior, not something which
we deal with and experience internally.
Of course right now, as pretty much always, we are all very concerned
about a variety of issues related to what we think of as external
justice. My guess is that if we developed this virtue more within
our individual self, some of these issues of justice perceived
externally would diminish. Part of this of course is the idea
of trust, which of course is another virtue.
I could be wrong, however.
