  Well, there is certainly enough " things ", more or less to worry about these days, without worrying about conspiracies, although, we even know that some of these conspiracies are in fact being exposed more or less, in the present, which I am not sure what happens then. But generally the conspiracy about somewhere , somebody is controlling things, seems to be on the face of it - mostly true -, as some reflection about things generally show. Mostly it's somebody in another office or another cubicle, or another city that's controlling things.  Sometimes, in fact that person is actually us.   So, I would say that, generally speaking, the notion that somebody is remotely controlling things is largely true, and most of the time, this situation is not a cause for concern or alarm.  However, the notion that somebody  behind the scenes is controlling everything while possible  seems to me to be highly unlikely, simply because of the nature of information....

 This could be a pretty difficult question, depending on how you look at it. At one time you might have been able to say that, -- space -- , is the black  stuff, directly over the blue stuff, that you can't see , when you are looking up.  Now a days, I think that  is a bit more difficult , complicated by the issue of space-time , what or where or when that is.  So, depending on how you look at it , it could be a pretty difficult question. And let's not mention what is a manifold at all. manifold, in mathematics,  a generalization and abstraction of the notion  of a curved surface ; a manifold is a topological space that is modeled  closely on Euclidean space locally but may vary widely in global properties.
