Love and potential

 

Right off , I must say, this is probably not going to be easy, and at the end, you

may experience some dissatisfaction with where it ends up.


To begin with, both of these notions or concepts have one thing in common which is

they might be considered subtle.  In the case of love, because it in associated with

so many other experiences, like respect, compassion, kindness, patience, and perhaps

many more , it ends up kind of complicated.  Likewise, for potential which can

be associated with a variety of events.  Both of these things do seems to possess

the attribute they they can be useful for understanding events, and both ideas

can be pretty easy to accept and " kind of " believe in.


So, in some ways, you can think of these things as what they are not, and then there

is some kind of sense of direction associated with both.  In another sense, they are

both useful in explaining things, and they also have a context of enfolding in

time.  So, they both encompass a good amount of complexity, and perhaps, that

is their strongest context, because it allows us to connect with this idea of complexity

without being totally put off.


So, very hard to reach a strong confusion here, but I will end with this curious line

" God is love, if we live our life in love ", a line which you can go round and

round with, and probably still feel a good deal of  discomfort  about.  Of course, there

is an open and continuing conversation about whether we do or can possess enough

of either.

Belief, faith, and meaning

  Well, these three concepts are obviously closely connected, but yet you can possibly make distinctions between them.  The first two are of course clearly related and you may even think of faith as a container for some beliefs.  The exact nature of what that container might be or how you might comprehend it, of course, is, kind of, what faith is all about. But talking about belief by itself, it seems pretty clear to me that what you actually do, at any given time is somehow connected to what you might believe, which is kind of handy and convenient, because you can, kind of, figure out , more or less , what you do believe by what you in fact do, and then, may have some clearer understandings about what you belief , which can also help you navigate some of the actions or activities you engage with. Okay, on space and time

  Well, it's a lot easier to think about if you just call it a manifold, which is not exactly super simple, but makes it a little easier to think about in terms of how " real " it is. So, this is motivated by article which I did not read, about how real is space and time. In mathematics, of course, this stuff is really real, because without it you can get absolutely nowhere.  But , let us not get too hung up with the math. Now, on a day to day basis of course we have " time " or we don't have any " time ". So, I would have to imagine for your average person, it's pretty darnn real, as of course is space, because, we are always involved with translations, meaning going from one place to another, and also, we put other stuff in spaces.  Now whether you want to believe that the stuff, you are using to jam into the space, is also space, I figure, that's all up to you and what makes you most comfortable. T.V. s and unlimited power

  I have to preface this, with, this could be a very hard train to follow, and I'm just hoping it doesn't crash at the end. I was fortunate, when I was very young to have been in a community, pretty much without T.V. s but in which they were being introduced gradually. So, when I was about 3 or 4 years old we had one, and the first experience I remember with that, was the Wizard of Oz.  I didn't see it completely  because I totally freaked out at the first appearance of the Wicked Witch of the West.  I remember this so distinctly, because I was unable to go into a dark room for about 3 weeks.  I was diagnosed with acute Witch-itis.   Moving on to the unlimited power.  Today, in the world we live in, we have selected, individuals to have practically unlimited power.
