Mysteries in, around, and through the Earth

Kinda' of a blank draft from a different blog, which was going to be titled - So Why?

So why am I writing on a blog, I believed I had completed, with the knowledge that anyone who had been reading this -- blog --, would no longer have much confidence it my writing, on account of I already told you it was over and done.

Well, I just feel a bit too feisty to talk about Why Is it Cold in Duluth ? , and so this is kind of a refection on what technology is, and where technology is going in the near term.  So years ago I started a blog about --- how wonderful --- the 21st century -- would be , could be --- , but that didn't work out, and it ended up being all about war, why and what of war.  Obviously war and technology are connected and so in retrospect I guess , I  became confused or befuddled in the context of what I had initially began to think about.  It happens.

So think about the technology of the 20th century and I can say from the point of view of someone who's father piloted " home made " aircraft with his friends, that technology in the 21st century cannot be the technology of the 20th century.  It almost has to be different.

Most of the technology of the 20th century was built with slide rules.  I remember my first one, which I had for many years, which my father bought for me, in a store near North Western, in Evanston, Illinois, a store which sold almost nothing but slide rules.  So, think about that and think about a cell phone which has more computing capacity that the entire world at that time. As far as I know, the question remains open as far as, what is really faster, slide rule or the abacus.

But science and technology are not the same thing.  Science is about knowing things, and also I believe a process of coming to understand things better than we do, and therefore, if we follow the thinking of Dr. Bohm in Wholeness and the Implicate Order, it is hard to conceive of a time, when this task or opportunity will reach a final conclusion. As a result technology will likely progress.

So the question is , what is technology?  It's definitely not a new thing, and of course for sometime now our most popular piece of technology has been, and probably will be, for some time yet, the wheel and of course the " making " of the wheel to go around. But beyond that, you know, our technology is a lot about " what we do ".  But it is all about us.  How can we, (us), do things better.  And oddly, it's not about the things we use, to do it as much as what we do and how we do it.  Therefore, it is more about our abilities , mentally and physically, and how we do stuff, and the things that we do, than about the stuff we have to help us to do it.  So, the conclusion is, people advance technology because people advance and become better themselves.

But, I believe the 21st century has amazing potential, and what can be achieved  could be beyond the greatest imaginings of any of the " great " prognosticators of the 20th century., in many, many ways.

But none of this, can be accomplished in " isolation ".  Not that people can not be left alone, but we have to work together, because, we see in every aspect that we engage in, that it is our combined efforts, that allow us to achieve these great and marvelous achievements.  And so, in conclusion of the conclusion of the concluding then : it's quite important for us to care about each other, to help each other as much as we can, to be kind in various ways. And as far as I am concerned and am capable of understanding, our economic well being is founded on two things, trust and generosity, and without those two things, then it becomes --- extremely weak ---- and subject to ruptures and all kind of difficulties.
